Overview of Position:
Leads a team of EHSS professionals, supervisors, and/or specialists to insure compliance through the implementation of EHSS guideline and procedures with broad principles and policies set by the corporation to meet EHSS requirements
Primary
Responsibilities:
n Leads a team of EHSS professionals, supervisors, and/or specialists to ensure compliance through the implementation of EHSS guidelines and procedures within broad principles and policies set by the corporation to meet EHSS requirements
n Advises management on government regulations relating to EHSS and recommends necessary action to sustain/attain compliance.
n Ensures site(s) compliance with national, state and local regulations by maintaining all EHSS permits, including new permit applications, renewals and modifications.
n Develops and oversees programs for existing and potential EHSS concerns, recommends solutions and implements agreed approaches
n Develops and coordinates programs for environmental remedial action and leads teams for critical incidents
n Ensures site(s) compliance with regulatory and company PSM requirements in collaboration with Engineering/Operations
n Maintains relationships with regulatory and government agency personnel
n Leads and promotes safety and environmentally conscious work performance and training programs toward the goal of zero incidents.
n Establish RC / EHSS goals, develop programs to achieve these goals through active
employee
/contractor involvement, and identify meaningful metrics to measure site(s) progress against the goals
n Leads and coordinates internal and external audits (incl. third party facilities)to ensure the management system is being adequately followed and ensures implementation of corrective action plans
n Ensures incidents reporting and investigation systems are in place and corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner
n Develops and oversees Industrial Hygiene monitoring programs
n Develop, in collaboration with HR, employee wellness initiatives
n Advise management on key EHS capital projects that enhance compliance
n Sustain RC management system to retain site(s) RC-14001 certification
n Act as Corporate DHS Corporate liaison
n Participates in broader company initiatives
Required Skills and Abilities:
n Work experience in chemical manufacturing facility, prior management experience in EHSS area required
n Solid knowledge of EHSS law, regulations, standards
n Demonstrated strength in managerial courage, drive for results and accountability with basic strength in human capital competencies
n Strong business and EHSS process orientation
n Analytical and Project Management skills
n Ability to balance multiple projects/tasks
Scope:
El Dorado Arkansas Site (211 square miles)
Education:
Bachelor's Degree required
Master's Degree a plus
Area of Concentration: (Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, Physical Science/Chemical Engineering/Environmental Engineering)Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
